If you want to hear a really great piece of singing, take this link to Julia’s site, Meliora Latent, where you can hear her younger brother, Carlos d’Onofrio, sing “Nessun dorma” from Turandot, by Pucini, with the St. Petersburg State Chamber Choir and the St. Petersburg Festival Orchestra, conducted by Kristofer Wahlander …
Oh, Crown, you are something!!
I’m so glad you like it!
Yes. It gets even better every time I play it.
what do you mean you play it?
I play the youtube link at your site to watch the video and listen to the singing. I enjoy it more each time. “Play” just means to click on the the white arrow.
Ah! That’s great.
I should tell my mother about this… you can imagine she’s a bit (too) fond of her son :-)
Well, I would be too if I were his mother (“My son the opera star”).
Yes, but imagine my position “My brother, the great DIVO” ;-)
I’m joking, his not like that and I love him very much!
There are some bonny lasses in that orchestra. Lucky lad. And he can sing. Very lucky lad.
Wonderful! And what a handsome young man he is, too. No wonder your Mom is proud as a Mom can be, Julia. Wow!
Thank you, dearieme & mab, I’m glad you like him.
He’s married to a gorgeous russian pianist from San Petersburg…
Aha! The Russian connection!
Does he perform often in Russia? Do let us (well, me) in Moscow know if he’ll be performing here!
Sorry for the delay, mab. I was expecting more details from my brother about his next performances, but you now how little brothers are…
So I can tell you just what I know. He acts mainly in Saint Petersburg. He and his wife work at the Mariinsky Theatre.
Thanks, Julia. I’ll keep that in mind the next time I travel north.
