Goats From All Over: Billy Goat Stomp (Jelly Roll Morton’s Red Hot Peppers)
I was listening to a French CD of jazz from 1927 and this came on, and I thought of you. How many jazz recordings have goats in them? (Let alone, say, opera.)
I’ve been thinking about trying a video. I think we’ve got a video camera somewhere… I’m not sure I can get them to do the dance that I love, the one that you can’t see in a still photo — they only do it if they’re feeling exceptionally happy & uninhibited — but I can try.
Definitely a drink, frizzy and any other Londoners. The weather was very good this weekend. I do wish someone would fix up Battersea power station. It’s so depressing to see it in worse & worse shape every time I take the train in from Gatwick. Poor thing. It’s one of London’s best buildings.
The dancing goats are back!!
The goats are back!!
¡Qué suerte!
I especially like when they are lined up all three.
Nimble, So do I.
Julia, You’re back. ¡Qué suerte! Somewhere I have more pictures of the dancing goats on the roof of the reservoir. I’m planning to show them one day.
I’m going to England until Monday, so if I don’t say anything tomorrow that will be why…
Yes, that’s one of my favourites too.
I’m always always here. Sometimes talking, sometimes quiet just sailing…
More dancing goats when you cam back, please!
¡Buen viaje!
(cam = come
sorry!)
They remind me of the swooshy-dancey bit in Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite.
Thanks, Julia. I’ll read that interesting looking sailing post of yours when I get back.
Mr Kite is just what they look like. I forgot to say that I took all the pictures today.
Those goats make me so happy. Thank them for me. (When you get back, of course.)

I want to snuggle into the goat coat. Don’t you just want to reach out and touch it? Great goat pictures!
Goat-Pourri.
(You have to scroll down to “Double Jeopardy! Round” to see what MMcM is referring to. I knew most of the answers!)
I love that first one where a curious goat peers, curiously, at the curious human who, curiously, seems to be kneeling, not grazing.
Would video work? would they dance for us? especially if you put on a suitably goat-related soundtrack?
Next time you come to London we should have a drink.
Oh, yes, please!! A video, a video!
We can wait what it takes, but a video would be fantástico…

I don’t understand how MMcM can manage to read Jeopardy clues as well as everything else he does. (I didn’t know some of the answers).
