This is just to alert you to a very interesting post about Taiwan that was published today at the LRB blog. It’s by Jason Kennedy, alias Pinhut, sometime visitor here, who lives in Taipei. He has another great post up at his own blog, BookArmor. Does any one of you erudite lot (besides Jason) know if the name “Pinhut” is a literary borrowing? I suppose we can just ask him…
I can save anybody the trouble, there is no literary connection.
Pinhut is the title of a song by an obscure band I like. I bought pinhut.com and later sold it for a good amount to an American company that sells badges (pins) from a hut (hmm).
I then bought bookarmor.com and now, a few years on, there are companies manufacturing ‘book armor’, protective hard plastic cases for Kindles, etc. I never foresaw that.
Unfortunately, the one offer I received so far was a derisory $500. At least one more zero is required to even make me give pause.
Thanks for the link!
So, internet entrepreneur as well as writer. I’m envious. I never buy anything except socks.
I bought some socks yesterday.
And I’m broke. But not broken, yet.
