The camera is fixed (a dirty electrical contact). You can see there is some snow here, just not very much.
The goats are outside,
sort of.
And Misty is trying to chew her way
through the gate.

Misty’s a vampire in that last picture on my mobile, but it’s when I open it on my laptop it gets really scary. Those toothnecks remind me that I ought to see a dentist.
Happy new year, or is that the other thread?
That’s the other thread.
It looks as if she’s got receding gums, but I think it’s merely that her teeth are still growing. I’m having to wing this; I’ve asked my schoolfriend who’s a dentist for advice about the horses’ teeth, but he refuses to comment. You never know when some ruminant’s going to sue, of course.
Hi! I love to see the girls again.
They look fantastic with their winter gowns, and the teeth are the 2012 infallible accessory. (You men never understand a thing!)
Wherever I go, I always take my teeth with me. I just don’t carry them in my handbag.
I saw something in a book today about goats being very good at leading horses. Zat true?
Well…our goats are a little bit scared of horses that come too close to them. The fact is they run away. But maybe you can train them. Our goats certainly don’t have an innate herding ability, like certain sheepdogs seem to, but they do like to walk in a single-file line, so maybe that’s it.
Beware of the goat: in Martian that would be “tansion kabri”, just like you would have “tansion lisien”. I’d say that such a sign is a bare necessity: these teeth look much too dangerous.
Scary but wonderful pictures!
While I’m at it (and since this thread is About Goats): The Surfing Goat.
“tansion lisien” That’s one mad dog, and the rust makes it look like the beginning of a horror movie. I may put up a “tansion kabri” sign for visiting Martians.
The Surfing Goat is great. That man really knows how to show a goat a good time. I’m inspired to try ours out on the lake next summer, and I suppose we could drive them down to the fjord to try salt water. There’s also a place called Badeland, a swimming pool where they create artificial waves; they might enjoy that (the goats).
Just wondering how well a goat swims…
(It might take some time before evolution provides them with flippers, but maybe your daugther could find a remedy to make the three of them more water-fitted. Incidentally, I’m not sure the video goat appreciated having her head under the water when she fell off that board. A swim cap might be another necessity.)
Just wondering how well a goat swims…
Yes, but that surfing goat is making me think we’ve been much too cautious and protective – although I remember that our goats don’t like riding on bicycles, it’s just too bumpy around here.
Their arms & legs won’t move sideways, so water wings will just turn them upside down. I could tie balloons to their ears and tail. I don’t want to make them look ridiculous, though.
They might enjoy skiing if I can rig up a two-legged binding.
Nature news: two cock pheasants in our backgarden today. We’re confident that our broad beans are well protected under the upturned wire baskets that we rescued from defunct freezers.
