There’s a big boulder in the middle of the dog run – rather a nice one: it’s a couple of metres high and children like to climb up and sit on the top. The other day it struck me that it looks very much like a dachshund’s head. I haven’t got any dachshund photographs for comparison but here are a couple of Topsy. I think you can get the idea from them:
Hard to go wrong with Topsy. Rock v fine.
We had pork chops for dinner: my wife told me that the breed was Oxford Sandy and Black. I said “You’ll be telling me his name next”. “Don’t be silly” she said “I don’t know his name.”
“But his mother was called Ginger.”
Ginger & Pickles.
It looks a bit like a dachshund and a bit like a dragon.
Yes, I didn’t think of a dragon. It looks quite cross.
It doesn’t look like a sausage to my eyes. More like a rusk.
It would take you a very long time to eat it.
I still have reasonably good teeth. So far they have allowed me to eat those South African rusks that my wife buys every now and then — hard sharp pieces of baked wheat called something like “Ouma”.
Hmm, funny. We have something nice like that. My wife says they’re made from spelt wheat.
Baby goat love pile.
When we first got ours they were about that age (three months, I think it was). We slept with them for two weeks in the goat house, it was so that they would know we were all part of the same herd. It was just like that video. You’d wake up in the middle of the night eyeball to eyeball with a young goat. Slightly scary.
On dogs: we’ve just a had a couple of days at the seaside – at Southwold specifically. Outside most shops, pubs and so forth is a water bowl for the woofers. And woofers are everywhere. It’s a multi-woof environment.
We were on the pier this morning, sitting next to a couple with a very fine spaniel. A woman strolling by turned and said “My doggie is on his holidays”. Then she repeated it. Then I realised she was addressing the spaniels.
I take it the woman was on her own holiday. Was her own doggie taking a separate holiday?

These guys are goats at heart.
Yes, “Separate holidays?” I don’t know what else the spaniels could have been expected to reply.
Here’s an interesting goat idea from Japan.
Aye, she must have boarded her dog at a kennels.
Unless the dog went to the south of France and boarded her at the kennel.
Woof!
